Good post Salmonella. Unlike RVW I think WDFW is trying to comply with the ESA recovery mandate. While 15 pairs seems like a small number of wolves, we know that in good range their reproductive rate is high. I know management is artificial, but in consideration that people like to also hunt deer and elk, I think it is a pretty small minority that favors the population booms and busts that will occur if wolves are not closely managed. The alternatives are hunting and professional predator control. Although I don't have an interest in hunting critters I wouldn't eat, I definitely favor managing the wolf population since we sure ain't doing a thing about managing the human population. ". . . the cancer of this planet . . .", so true.
