BILL W: nickel-plated pop gear and a worm works; longer and larger stuff, not small willow trolls. and the troutfisherman has some other attractors. it is possible that the more flash attraction you can put out there the better; the water is generally clear enough to see bottom in 9 feet or so, and maybe lotsa flash (and quite possibly the noise made by pop gear flashers) might get their attention from quite a ways away.

we typically drag this stuff 50 to 90 back of the boat, with 60 to 70 being the most common. move along fast enough to keep the gear in the upper part of the water column; if you troll too slow, unless you shorten up your line it may surprise you how deep it will go (we found out by getting snagged on bottom).

i experimented with a pop gear string hooked behind a couple of big ford fenders, and that caught fish too.

can't help but wonder what would happen if a guy pulled an "abe-n-al" rotating salmon flasher as an attractant; i'll bet they've never seen one of those before!

ain't exactly light-gear fishin'.
