Thursday, May 8, I played fishing guide to Dean Musch on Deep Lake (Grant County). By that I mean I guided the boat and operated the net while Dean caught all the fish! Trolling a worm tipped Wedding Ring behind a gang troll, Dean brought 3 nice "Tripods" (my name for triploids) to the net, each weinging about 1 1/2 pounds. Fishing was slow, about one fish an hour. We found no real hot spot, catching one fish at each end of the lake and one in the middle. The water was comparatively warm at 56 degrees and the fish were not on the surface as Dean was out 75 to 100 feet with his leaded line.
