"In February, ConocoPhillips closed the country's only functioning LNG export terminal, a 40-year-old Alaska facility that shipped to Japan, citing a lack of customers. After the March earthquake in Japan raised LNG prices worldwide, the company shipped a few more cargoes, but has said it still plans to close the terminal"

Why the hell would they build a new export terminal down here under these conditions if it wasn't to raise domestic prices.
