Here are a few thoughts. The first one I can surely remember is Tom Flick although I like to THINK I remember Moon. Flick gave us a motivational speech a few years ago at work and did a great job.
I know stats don't mean everything but for passing, Pickett blows them all away with total yards. He had a 3,000 and 4,000 season. Nobody else even had a 3,000 yard season. He also had the most TDs per season with 28.
Best Runner-Gotta go with Jake.
Most athletic-Marques, nice touch and could run. A close second (or maybe even tied) is Stanbeck.
Best team leader?-A guy with no losses is pretty hard to refute. I liked Brunell better (who didn't?) but gotta go with Hobert and his unblemished record.
I'm adding a couple of categories.
Favorite QB- Locker. He just seemed like the most down to earth, humble guy who went through a ton of adversity but remained true to his school and was victorious in his last game when nobody believed in him. And he was a local boy from Ferndale. How can you not like him?
Best NFL career-Moon and Brunell are tied with Chandler coming up next.
Brock Huard had the highest single season pass rating (154%)
OK, you are down by 6 with a couple minutes left in the Rose Bowl or National Championship Game. Who do you want directing your last drive to potentially win the game?
One more thought-Every starting QB since 1975's Moon was drafted by the NFL except two. That is a long run of quality QBs.
