I live on the South end of the Lone Lk, and don't fish it much, but have a couple times this year.

I was practicing my fly casting off a dock the other day and started getting tired of cast after cast, so I started stripping in my fly (green body, brown hackle(?), wet) and a large female hit my fly! How cool, my first fly-caught fish over 6 inches! I have a pretty good eye for fish over 22 inches, and I'd say she was just under. She was in full spawning colors and when I released her, she lost about a dozen eggs.

Seems like I am seeing most fish rising on the surface near the shoreline. This also matches the recent reports I have received from other people fishing the shoreline. Must be looking for shallow water to spawn?

This is a great time of year to fish Lone, as it's pretty protected and almost in the rain shadow.
