Back in the days when I was a youngster, Scoop Jackson and good ol' Warren Magnusen, I'm just wondering how many staffers did they have on their payroll? I would expect it pales in comparrison to what we are saddled with now in the Murray and Cantwell era.

I'm sure that many of you Seattle liberals that are way smarter than me could google it up and find out. I'm guessing that the number of paid people on a single Senators staff from say like 50 years ago, and even perhaps 30 years ago, would simply amaze just about everyone who has not looked it up. Now, All of this huge need for so many staffers in the age of computers and ease of access to information ?..Please, we're all paying for it now.

Too much government? I happen to think so. One thing no one ever seems to embrace is what the government retirement / entitlement benifents our senators and representitives continue to get year after year, then continue to do so after they finally do retire or finally get voted out of office, it's just insane.

Sheese, is it any wonder why the schiester lawyers who can't make a living in a hometown law practice become politicians?

I should have continued my poly sci degree at UW and never become a journeyman machinist.

Thankfully, I chose to be a machinist. At least I now have a marketable skill.
