Depends on the race of chum, ran into some on a Grays harbor stream a few years back & me & my 2 buds caught over 30 fish in a 2 hour stretch. They were the fightingist fish I have ever seen, running 10-20 lbs most would jump 4-5 times w/ strong runs ripping line off the cranked drags. There might have been a few deadbeats in the crowd but I can't remember them.

One fish I especially remember with fondness, after the hook-set he went @ it, greyhounded across the pool & literally cartwheeled for about 100 feet, I remember counting 7 distinct jumps. I was screaming HELL YEAH !! so loud it was echoing off the far bank.
