Wall Street and the financiers have always had a knack for picking winners in elections. They can read the tea leaves and they'll always throw their money at the ones who they think will be in a position of power and scheme ways they can keep making their dough. In '08 there really wasn't any doubt the voters were tired of the GOP and there would be a new posse. The most money in history flowed from Wall Street to the Dems and Obama for obvious reasons.

Interestingly enough, the money from the financial sector is flowing more to the GOP this election cycle.
