In spite of everyone trying to take credit for it, "The Surge" didn't do schit...it was an abject failure.

The entire reason given for "The Surge" was to create space for a political solution to the war...all it did was ramp up the fighting, a bunch of people died, "The Surge" ended, and nothing had changed politically at all.

Just as with the rest of the war The Surge was a waste of money and lives.

It did, however, allow a bunch of politicos from both sides to claim that it was successful, and their idea...
