The weak point of the original design is where it connects the aluminum end caps to the wood barrel. (Note my poor epoxy job to get it through the last season.)

I asked Mitch to thread an aluminum barrel, and then attach end caps to it. If I ever buy another ML, I'll have to get a new bottom piece built, but it should work just fine for years to come.

Tried it out today when the boys and I went shooting. 7 shots in a minute, and I wasn't trying to move fast. Yeah, it works pretty well.

Anything wood, or household electrical, piece of cake. Metal working like this is beyond my skillset.
