The brake on my 6.8spc is abusive to the ears, especially with a 16.25" barrel. Same with the brake on my .458. Yeah, I've fired a number of rounds hunting with both without protection. Not fun.

Switching over to a standard flash hider, on my 6.8, that doubles as a quick detach suppressor mount. I will probably fit most of my sub 0.30" rifles with similar mounts.

Standard threadings are 5/8"x24 or 1/2"x28. Anything above .223 should be 5/8"x24.
