Those rods have "ferrulite" ferrules, meaning the tip section fits over the butt section like almost every rod does nowadays. But that was revolutionary when Jimmy Green introduced that in the Fenwick rod line in the late 60s or early 70s. Those rods were made until the late 70s when Fenwick went offshore. That FS 79C was the absolute shizzle among steelhead drift fishermen in until and even for a while after graphite rods were introduced in 1973. Use that rod, but take care of it. It's a legend.
