Let's just pretend they DID use American labor and materials in the construction of the bridge in question.
Then everyone would be sniveling about the outrageous price.
It costs real money to use American labor and materials in manufacturing. Remember that the next time you spend your money on some import bullsh!t because it had the lowest price. If we weren't all such a bunch of tightasses, corporations wouldn't need to offshore their jobs like they have. We asked for Wal Mart garbage, and now we have it..........while college kids get burger-flipping jobs because service industry jobs is all we have left for the masses.
To tell you the truth, I'm not crazy about "I saved X dollars on whateverthehell" stories, because someone probably got laid off so you could "save X dollars."
I understand that people have to watch their expenditures, and not throw money around willy-nilly, but this "Pay Less. Live Better" story doesn't seem to be working out all that well.
Carry on. I'm going to go pour a drink of American-distilled whiskey.
