Hmmm I'm not sure, but we might actually NEED dogfish in Puget Sound. From the Bio Reports I've read, the population in the Sound is about 25% avg historic levels. The law of unintended consequences, often cited but rarely defined, is that actions of people always have effects that are unanticipated or "unintended." Aggresively removing a relativly this relatively large predator/scavenger from an ecosystem might be having negative effects on the salmon fishery.

Maybe I'll find some white papers describing the interaction between salmonids and Squalus acanthias in Puget Sound. If so I'll post a link here.
