Sounds like a job for teh Arab League or UN peace keeping troops, not the US. They haven't invaded anyone, nor are they a direct threat to their neighbors. This struggle is internal, and we have no allies to support.

I can't imagine being shelled by my own government to the point where if I ran, I risked being shot by snipers. Horrible is an understatement.
