talk to your doctor about the safe use of alcohol while you are taking this medication. Alcohol can make the side effects of alprazolam worse.

Unlike some prescription meds that can cause you to stop breathing, (Oxy type pain meds) especially if you drink some, Xanax doesn't seem to do that.


Not really sure if you were posting that article with one of my post for me or not but I already knew the side effects of alcohol and Xanax use. While it does not stop breathing all together, alcohol usually increases the risk of the usual side effects of Xanax (one of which is drowsiness). When mixed it also can cause a decrease in heart/breathing rates which usually leads to someone passing out. I am not a rocket scientist but I know that drowsiness, decreased heart rate, decreased breathing rates, and a bath tub do not mix.
