You need to define "adult living" in order to make any sense of the question. The best thing I can think of with regard to Pullman is its proximity to some good fishing - in season. Most of the year I'd want to be some place else. Seattle has a lot more for an adult to do, both for livelihood and entertainment. But the traffic is among the worst in the country. Living in Seattle only makes sense if one can locate strategically. I lived in the U District not far from Montlake for a number of years. I was in college then, and it was a good place to be.
