Tough to go wrong with a .270 for deer. Shoots plenty flat. Has plenty of knockdown power. Great selection of factory loads. What's not to like.

Lots of guys like ultra-magnums these days. They mostly seem like a waste to me. I grew up deer hunting in Utah and my first big gun was a .270. I still have it even though I haven't shot modern rifle in 15 years....

.... You wouldn't be interested in a used Winchester model 70 in .270 would you? It's clean and shoots striaght with a 3X9 scope....
