+ 1 on Vancouver Island. Port Hardy is a good spot for a fishing trip but might be a bit far for a 3 day trip. Depends on what you want to do. We used go to Victoria for a couple days before sailing up island. Duncan, Parksville, Campbell River, Ucluelet and Tofino are all good spots to visit. Chemanius has painted murals and a nice theater that usually has things going on. Ladysmith is Pam Anderson's home turf so you might get a look at her on the way thru. We went to a 3 day reggae festival in Ladysmith that was great. You can catch a ferry in Sidney to Saltspring Island which is a nice spot also.
Catch the Coho ferry in Port Angeles and you'll be in downtown Victoria.
