I just started hunting turkey's this year and got permission on a nice piece of land just north of the elk fence along the national forest border in the blue mountains, but i cant call in a damn turkey! We saw one tom today that we spotted while glassing and it wouldnt talk one bit, do they get more vocal as the season goes on or is there a certain time of day that they are more vocal? Also, i was expecting flocks of birds but we only saw a few pairs of hens and they were covering ground fast, is this normal? 1 other problem is the blues are a ways from wsu and i heard there are turkey's in whitman county, possibly along the snake river breaks, if you have any info on them email me, i can direct you to a lot of written permission in the blues.
