It was a great trip to Glacier Bear Lodge but also a very wet one this time. We had rain all day every day except one day, But, it did not stop us from fishing all day every day! Fishing was great and the Halibut fishing was the best in 10 years!
I hope it holds up for the next groups coming in this week and next!

We went out on the water in this type conditions in one of our 16ft jphn boats to catch an 80lb and a 40 lb Halibut in lake type water around the islands!

Then we went out in our big boat to fish in the main inner water around ice bergs from the Hubbard Glacier and caught feeder kings and some amazing scenery. Later in the morning we headed out to the Halibut grounds to catch some nice ones in about 100 feet of water!

The river was full of huge bright Sockeye that were so acrobatic they would run around you legs and jump over you head! 10lb'ers were very common this year.

A little blurry with all the rain but you get the idea of the size even with the long arm!

And do those young eagles love Sockeye eggs!
