so we made it out on saturday, kind of bumpy in the morning but laid down late morning. Headed southwest from westport. started trolling a little early while still in green water and caught a native chinook (released) before all the rods were even out. kept getting short strikes on xraps, assuming more salmon so picked up and moved farther west. Finally found nice blue water at 62.5 degrees so gear went back out and strarted hitting fish on the troll. toss iron and live bait after each fish picked up on the troll and started trolling again after they went deep again. we ended up with ten fish which was pretty good considering the slow morning we had. we had to travel pretty far to find those fish, guys that found them early in the day did considerably better. hope to do it again this weekend.
