there is a small 14-16 ft boat with a Berk pump on it near my brothers that i am looking at, its got a 350, but i could change that real quick wink... the boat wouldnt be used for fishing either... dont know what make it is, but its one of the original style boats they used to do that with, now, the boats are way nicer, and lighter....


No it's not new, but it has only been going on here since 2006 and the PNW is the only place they race right now in the US. It started in New Zealand. These are different than river rats which race on rivers. These boats are races in man-made ditches and most boats are 12' to 13.5' and run methanol injected motors that run 900-1,500 H.P. The pumps on these things are pumping up to 750 gallons of water per second, which they claim they can empty an olympic size pool in less than 15 minutes.
