You've probably already heard about the Johnson Creek birds and there are quite a few but there are some other populations in that area that don't get much pressure. The north side of the Vail tree farm holds birds. There are birds out past Johnson creek if you cross the river at the wildlife area and also the south side of that forest out past Bucoda and the coal plant. A mountain bike is a must for these areas, although it's been a couple of years since I went out there so I'm not sure what kind of access there is these days.

I've also heard rumor that there are absolutely herds of birds up near the Wynochee reservoir but I have never been up looking for them. Supposed to be the largest population of Easterns in the state and in pretty rough country so they don't get much pressure.

Hope this helps. You'll have to post some pics of the trio when you get them!
