Nice work Big Bucks. Thanks for the reply. This is exactly the information I was looking for. I bought a muzzleloader 2 years ago for deer, but just recently started thinking elk.....especially since the season seems like it would overlap the tail end of the rut. The hard part has been finding people who've had success doing what I'm thinking about since there are virtually no resources dedicated to Roosevelt elk hunting. At any rate I'm trying to pick up the calling part as we speak and have bought a several external reed cow calls,a few mouth calls and a grunt tube. It seems to me the mouth calls offer the most flexibility, but I'm still learning. Has your experience been the same and also do you ever bugle when in the field or stick mostly with cow calling? Thanks for your help.
