I once learned how to salt salmon in a bucket to preserve it from an old native Alaskan. I tried it and thought it was the best way to preserve fish to get the best quality and last the longest. I have since forgotten how its done apparently?? I know you layer the fish with rock salt in a bucket. Then soak it in fresh water to rehydrate the fish. When I tried this the fish was very salty after soaking it for 2 days, changing the water each day. Does anyone have experience doing this??
