Hit one of my honey holes out on the coast for the opener. Saturday was terrible as the fog was thicker than I had ever seen it. Couldn't see more than 50 yards at any one time. My buddy and I stuck it out for the entire day waiting for it to lift...but it never did. Saw a ton of sign from the night before so we knew we were in the right area, just couldn't see the buggers. Frustrating to say the least. We knew the weather was suppose to change for today and did it ever!

Woke up to a relentless driving rain and wind. Not the funnest stuff to hunt in, but at least we could see. About 7:30 I spotted a nice buck in a brush patch and positioned myself to take a shot. Just as I get the bipod down and the scope on him...he takes a couple steps and just like that he's gone. Tried tracking him, but never saw him again. Looked to be a solid three point. frown Rest of the day we saw a fair number of does and one small spike we passed on. Oh well, this area has always produced, so I'll be out there next weekend.
