I usually just leave them in, and tell people "that's how you can tell it didn't come from a store!"...but if they need to come out, I have a very reliable technique that takes virtually no effort.

I hand a pair of needlenose to my girlfriend and show her the fillet...she's not only good at it, but for some reason actually enjoys doing it.
