I have been using a 7 foot rod this fall for twitching jigs. From a boat this is the way to go. My rod builder is going to be here in 15 mins to fish with me, we are going to discuss my next rod. Which will be a short light twitching stick.

With the shorter stick everything happens much faster and you have way less time that you are not in touch with the jig.
