I guess I don't agree with gay marriage (probably a bigoted point of view but at least I am honest) but I also understand that it doesn't affect/change anything in my marriage or life. I voted in support of it, because by saying no I would possibly be preventing others from being happy and even though I don't agree with it, the actions that cause their happiness has no direct influence on my life.

I have been married for 21 years and haven't seen my marriage license since a week after I said "I do", so I don't see the wording as all that important.
