I think you should get a reply from Jamie, I can't print mine without her permission, but I will say that there are points I agree with and others I don't. We have differences in what we think are best approaches to Rockfish conservation and harvest, but there may be a middle ground.

I personally feel that it is wasteful to discard Rockfish that are not allowed in the regulations and it would be better to allow one or two per daily limit while educating sportfishermen to learn how to use release methods for Rockfish experiencing decompression sickness. I would also encourage sportsfishermen to fish shallower when not seeking Halibut and Lingcod and encourage them to release any RF not suffering from decompression,that would be from the surface to 60 feet down.

Federal regulations regarding Canary and Yelloweye RF need to be considerd

In the case of Black,Blue,Yellowrtail RF, C&R and keeping a limit can be both accomplished as long as it is done without violating possession limits.

Leadhead jigs with barb less hooks fished no deeper that 60 will go a long way in doing this.
