I have been waiting with much anticipation for the expected run of over 40,000 silvers that were supposed to go up the Cowlitz system this year. Last Wednesday I took the sled out for what I hoped would be a fantastic day we fished all day tried everything and nothing! all we saw was a giant king hooked by another boat who had it on for 40 minutes or so and lost it. Although the fishing was great for toutle fish the main cowlitz has yet to get hot. When I got back home I called my father who lives on the lower columbia and asked him if he has heard anything as far as the main cowlitz he said Don't even try this week I am looking out my window and all I see is gillnetters must be 30 boats their won't be a fish that gets by them!
