Yep it's down, but not because of alleged "hackers". (They've already done an investigation and found a culprit within minutes of the site going down?) Its because they were unable handle the demands of an open discussion where their views were challenged. They simply couldn't defend an unsupportable position in the glaring light of public scrutiny. Not to mention the embarrassment of some of the posts by their supporters that did nothing but strengthen the arguments of pro I-696 crowd.

Deleting posts simply because you disagree with an opinion and insulting people who just wanted to hear the other side of the argument before voting is just a little undemocratic (and plain dumb), to say the least. It was this attitude and outlook towards the concerns of others and the threatened resource that led to I-696 in the first place.

Now, to take down the site and blame it on hackers from the opposing viewpoint is quite lame.

Sure hope it passes...
