The post should read assault weapons cannot be banned, not assault weapons should not be banned. This all goes back to the basic foundations of our country. The founders of our country were very wise when they wrote the constitution, They realized that things would change with time and thus made it possible for the constitution to be amended. In article 5 it states an amendment requires 3/4 of the house to vote for for an amendment before it can be passed. No individual Not even the president of the United States can change the constitution. Personally I do not have an assault weapon that I know of and I am not sure what the legal definition is or if there is one. What I do know is That our right to keep and bear arms still stands and it shall not be infringed.
