Trees have very little if any influence on large deep-seated rotational landslides. Those are going to happen regardless. Shallow landslides are the ones trees make a difference on.


That's consistent with what I heard. A geologist said the toe of that slide is below sea level and that the form extends along about two miles of the shoreline. If there are houses there, they are also at risk.
