The legislature should address this by removing the timber tax classification when the land owner starts charging for access. I also felt part of the reason for the lower tax classifications were to promote activities that benefitted the public. Farm land status to make it affordable to farm since we need to keep an agricultural base, timber for that reason and to promote open space, wild life areas. If the large tax owners wish to use the land for other uses too, they should have a slightly higher tax basis. This is heading to a rich man's sport. I could see for motorized access, but not for walk-in.
