OK, to combine a couple different questions I've had recently...

I've got a driftboat that drags a lot of water because it doesn't have quite the full bananna shape that most do. So it's kinda tough to pull plugs because I really gotta work the oars hard.

So what's the etiquette for anchoring and pulling plugs for steelhead? I know it's pretty accepted for salmon, even out on the coast. Seemed like every other hole on the Hoh had people anchored up.

But I hear people look at steelheading a little differently. This will be my first winter in the boat so I haven't seen what most folks do but during a guided trip last March on the Sauk we only anchored once that I can remember.

What about anchoring to the side and drift fishing through the slots and stopping to let other boats pull plugs through?

I know you can't please all the people all of the time but what's considered "normal" practice?

tks,
Bruce
