Clean my guns after they get shot. I did go about 7,500-10,000 rounds on my old "Range/Class" G19 before i cleaned it and sold it off to a buddy. Functioned flawlessly and it could have went alot longer.
My carry guns usually get wiped down/relubed every single week. The amount of lint and other chit that gets on them is amazing, especially if i have been carrying it in a ankle holster.
Like Dogfish, on hunting rifles i like the barrels to have a few rounds through em. Ive noticed the groups definitely shrink when you have the perfect amount of fouling built up... My Howa 1500 .300 WM likes 3 shots.
