Pete isn't in the HOF due to his own choices. Bonds, Maquire, and others from the steroid era are up for election to the hall and they aren't in either and they won't get in. Seems pretty fair and balanced to me. Petes stats are HOF caliber but you cannot have managers betting on their own teams.

BTW, all Pete had to do was to own up, apologize, and he could have got his ban lifted and maybe even returned to baseball. He chose not to and now he has do deal with it.
