this is my first question asked on this page so go gently on me. my question is in regard to sidedrifting from a boat, and whether to use a sliding weight or to secure the weight to the swivel. i wrote bill herzogg in salmon, trout, and steelhead and he felt that a non sliding weight was the way to go. a local guide i know is adamant that a sliding weight is better. i allways use a sliding weight to drift fish and boondog. i started side drifting about 2 years ago and am looking for other peoples experiences. thanks in advance.
