There's no doubt that it's a poverty issue, not a race issue...but there is more to the fact that a higher percentage of black people are poor than just noting that "they're black".

Don't just look at relative percentage of blacks that commit crimes, or relative amount of crimes that are commited by blacks...look at the conviction rates between blacks and whites that are accused of the same or similar crimes.

The fact that blacks accused of the same crimes are more likely to be convicted is not a poverty or education problem...it's a race problem.
