The next time you're out in the salt fishing for halibut or rockfish, and there's salmon around try this: rig up a double hook rig with a troll herring the same as you would for mooching or trolling.

About six feet up, tie a 2oz inline banana weight.

Then about twenty feet up(depends of depth and current) the mainline from the bait, put on the biggest bobber you can find. Drop the whole mess in the water, and let the current carry it back about 30 yards from the back of the boat. Turn on the clicker, put it in the rod holder, and you're ready to go. This works amazingly well, at least up here in Alaska, and it gives you something to do sitting and watching the bobber while you wait for a halibut.
