Pot limits were requested by industry not state and a minority went down and a majority went up. Some still haven't accepted it yet, it has nothing to do with another user groups quota or protecting the resource. It was put in place because small boats were getting the shaft while 70 -80ft boats mostly from Alaska were coming down in the off season and going around and around on as many as 1500 pots and then leaving.
