Question for the salties...

I've noticed that some of the maps of Puget Sound show areas to fish for bottomfish. I'm not interested in catching a few small flounder or ?? Are there some good sized, good eating fish to be caught without going too far out? I launch from Edmonds or Everett usually. Also, do halibut come into these sheltered waters or must you go out further to open water? Better luck jigging a buzz bomb or using bait? Any info would be appreciated.
