Everett Herald today posted probable seasons for 2000, although not official until North of Falcon approval. While Chinook seasons would be about the same as last year (of course last year there wasn't much Chinook so saying it's the same is sort of a soft spin control by the state harvest managers) Coho for Area 9 would be restricted to fin clipped, and only a 2 week opening in 1st two weeks of Sept.

Seeing as current gill net technology doesn't recognize fins, will this mean netters will not be allowed to fish? Or is this just for sports fishers.

I assumed netters would be restricted because it wouldn't make much sense to have a sports fisher release a native Coho only to see if swim into a gill net or sein a mile away. But these days who knows, and thus the question.
