My second daughter just got her first tax refund back from Uncle Sam today.

Problem is she filled out that ridiculously dumbed-down 1040-EZ, and still failed to claim herself as an exemption.

Dear ol' Dad to the rescue….

In reviewing the situation for an amended return, I was able to find a few extra items in her favor…. enough to increase her refund nearly 6-fold.

A small victory for a Dad helping his daughter navigate the realities of independent living. I can sleep well knowing I fulfilled an important civic duty.
