Damn...rough story.

I would be very surprised if the Niners don't resign Smith...but let's be honest here, if he was a third rounder or wasn't a super star he'd be long gone already.

With a talent like that the level of what the team will take to dump him is pretty damned high.

That being said...I'll also be very surprised if Goodell doesn't have Smith watching a good quarter of the season from his couch, anyway.
