This morning I went to let out my 3 pet goats from their locked shed and saw that the metal gate to their pasture was bent over, some of the fencing was also bent, the two doors to their sheds were tore up but in place because of a section of rebar that I run along the bottom.
One of the 16 X 20 side windows that had been left open for ventilation had its screen ripped off. I called the goats, no answer. Not sure what to expect I called Fish & Game and they arrived. Two goats in the shed unharmed, one missing....125 lbs. We found the gut pile 40 yards away and the officer found the carcass further down the ravine. The bear had stuck his head and possibly front legs in the window (five feet off the ground) and pulled the goat out with his jaws.
Two other goats in Fall City were killed the past two days, plus chicken coops destroyed.
I didn't hear the commotion due to having the window AC on during the night. Even my neighbors dog didn't hear anything. This bear is hunting big game and dangerous. Thought those in the area should know.
