Hello,I live in washougal, its growing in leaps and bounds,as far as fishing the washougal not what it used to be by a long shot it still has winter steehead and summer steelhead and fall chinook and silvers but not in the quantities of old.We do get a decent fall salmon run if they would let us fish it.We have good sturgeon fishing here if you have a boat even off the bank,I do off the bank at bonniville dam, they do catch them off a fishing dock right by the town.I honestly believe the kalama has a better fishery as far as steelhead and spring salmon of which the washougal has none, its also better fished from a boat(drift),I've only fished it that way,I don't know about bank fishing,I understand its good also.Hope this helps. From what I've read on this post tho the area up on the sound has a lot more rivers and better fishing.
